Common queries about toy repair

At Teddy Medical Centre in Peterborough, I specialise in restoring, repairing, and renovating special toys, from antique teddy bears to modern plushies. My work is always by hand, sympathetic to the item's age, and aligned with your wishes. I believe in preserving these treasures and the memories they hold.

How long will my bear be away from me?

Depending on the type of repair or restoration, it can be anything from a few days to 4 weeks. If you have any concerns regarding being parted for a long time, please do let me know and we can look at how I can get around that.

What unique services do you offer?

Most bears and toys are posted to me (I always advise using one of Royal Mail's tracked services - 24hr or 48hr) but you are most welcome to drop them off in person, or make an appointment and meet me for an initial consultation.

What is the first step to send a toy for repair?

I always try to start things with an email (or Whatsapp if emails aren't possible), that way I can give you all the information to consider, to make sure you are happy before we start. I work from home, and I have a lovely post lady who makes sure all deliveries get to me safely, or I'm happy for you to pop in and deliver them yourselves so you can see where they will be and meet me too. (Just check I am not doing the weekly shop first!)

Do you repair modern soft toys?

Yes, we offer complete restoration, repair, and renovation services for modern soft toys and plushies, ensuring every stitch is carefully considered.

Is your work sympathetic to antique toys?

Absolutely. All work is done by hand and is sympathetic to the age and original fabrics of antique teddy bears and other treasured items.

Can I meet you for an initial consultation?

Yes, you are most welcome to make an appointment to meet me for an initial consultation, or drop off your toys in person.
